Adelong is an heritage-listed Snowy Mts town located 416 km s-w of Sydney via the Hume and Snowy Mountains Hwys. From the Aboriginal word meaning 'along the way', gold established this town with 25 tonnes have been mined between 1857 and 1914.

Historic Adelong Walk through town includes many beautiful National Trust buildings. Adelong Musuem (Tumut St) open 11am-3pm (weekends).

Adelong Falls Reserve (north Adelong) features Richie’s Gold Battery, ruins of reefer machines, water wheels and a red brick chimney.
