Airlie Beach is a pretty seaside village located 1 100 km n-w of Brisbane on the state’s WhitsundayCoast. Together with adjacent ShuteHarbour, this great holiday destination is the gateway to the WhitsundayIslands which include Brampton, Hamilton, Hayman, Daydream and the Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach Lagoon (foreshore) for safe swimming. It was built by the local council to avoid the marine stingers in the ocean waters between Nov-May.

Nearby:
Conway NP (6 km east) is a peaceful park with 35 km of coastline. It features rainforests, exotic orchids, deep valleys and is home to the endangered Proserpine rock wallaby as well as a prolific birdlife. Mt Rooper offers superb views over Hamilton, Dent, Long and Henning islands. Islands of Whitsunday Passage offers access to the many islands in the group. Hamilton, Daydream and Hayman have resorts with many social and sporting activities while Whitsunday, Hook and South Mole are more secluded and quieter.
