Batchelor NT 0845
Batchelor is a small NT settlement located 98 km south of Darwin. This area, which also includes the Rum Jungle and Litchfield National Park, came to be known for the uranium discoveries almost 60 years ago lasting until 1971. A unique residential tertiary TAFE campus was established here especially for indigenous students. Tourism has grown rapidly in recent years as Batchelor stands at the gateway to the Litchfield NP which encompasses 1 500 sq km of amazing rock formations, numerous waterfalls, huge termite mounds and lush monsoon forests.
