Blackwood is an historic Daylesford region goldmining village 90 km n-w of Melbourne. This pretty settlement of quaint timber cottages surrounded by forested hills, was established in 1850s when gold was discovered and prospered for a number of years. Today Blackwood is a quiet community situated close to the vast Lerderderg State Park featuring Lerderderg Gorge and River - ideal for bushwalking, trout fishing & swimming.
