Boort is a small Mallee-Murray region service town 259 km n-w of Melbourne. First settled in 1840s by pastoralists, a lakeside reserve has uncovered Aboriginal relics and is also home to a number of kangaroos and emus. Boort is surrounded by Lake Boort, Little Lake Boort & Lake Lyndger. Important industries are wheat, grains, dairying, wool & tomatoes.
