Bridgetown is a pretty timber town and fashionable tourist destination in WA’s South Western region. Located 262 km south of Perth on the Blackwood River, the town is surrounded by a hilly landscape and is home to WA’s longest timber bridge. First settled in 1850s, fruit growing began early and remains a staple of the local economy together with tin mining and timber. Markets held Sun am fortnightly. Suttons Lookout, off Phillips St panoramic district, river and town views. Blackwood River WA’s longest timber bridge spans its longest permanent river.
