Capella Qld 4702

Capella is a tiny Capricorn hinterland rural service centre on the Gregory Hwy 883 km n-w of Brisbane. Graziers settled the area in 1860s and the township was established in 1883. Main local industries include coal mines, grains and beef cattle. The stunning Peak Range consisting of volcanic plugs is nearby and Capella is the Peak Downs Shire Council headquarters.
