The Central Coast is located only one hour north of Sydney and bounded by the Hawkesbury River (south), Watagan Mts (west) & Lake Macquarie (north). This popular urban region has a population of 320 000 and covers an area of 1 773 sq km.  Attracting large numbers of retirees & holiday makers, many residents are also daily commuters to Sydney.  There are many small and larger towns located both directly on the coast or somewhat inland and there is an abundance of national parks such as Brisbane Water, Bouddi, Wyrrabalong & Dharug.
