Crows Nest is an attractive South East Qld service town on the New England Hwy 157 km west of Brisbane. This charming settlement was built around a large village green which is unusual in Australian country towns. Within the square is a statue of the town’s namesake, Jimmy Crow, a Kabi-Kabi Aboriginal who lived in a hollow tree and furnished early travelers with directions and information. Crows Nest NP, Ravensbourne NP, Pechey State Forest and Lake Cressbrook all nearby. Markets on the first Sunday of each month. Crows Nest Day (Oct).
