Crystal Brook is a pleasant Clare Valley township acting as the Flinders Ranges southern gateway. Located 197 km north of Adelaide, this rural service centre began life as a pastoral property, Crystal Brook Run with the town established in 1873.

Bowman Park
(8 km east) located on the Heysen Trail with historic buildings, a variety of native animals and reptiles and several excellent walking trails. Koolunga (10 km east) small rural settlement on the Broughton River and home of the mythical bunyip. Gladstone (21 km n-e) a Rocky River Valley town with historic gaol. Laura (32 km north) a pretty town with historic buildings, art galleries and host of the annual Folk Fair (Apr). Snowtown (50 km south) small wheat town surrounded by large salt lakes explored by the 6 km Lake View Dr and Lochiel-Ninnes Rd Lookout.
