Cue WA 6640 (Pop 270)

Cue is a famous Outback former goldmining town on the Great Northern Hwy 646 km n-e of

Perth. Following the discoveries of gold in 1890s, the settlement became known as the ‘Queen of the Murchison’ with many grand buildings constructed and the population swelling to about 10 000. Many of the mines continued to operate until 1930s when the gold prices fell. In recent years, mining has resumed with a number of smaller mines operating independently.
