Donald is a pretty Grampians region service centre 284 km n-w of Melbourne. Located on the Sunraysia Hwy and lovely Richmond River, Donald is known as the ‘Home of the Duck’ for its prolific waterbird population. Named after the original European settlers, Donald was actually established by a German immigrant in 1860s. Today the district produces wheat, wool & fat lambs. Scottish Dancing country Weekend (June), Antiques & Collectibles Fair (Oct).
