Dunsborough is an attractive resort town in the Margaret River region. It is situated on beautiful Geographe Bay 253 km south of Perth and was originally settled in 1830s. There are over 80 wineries within an hour's drive and it was recently named one of the fastest growing towns in Australia. Leeuwin Naturaliste NP (13 km n-w) spans 120 km from Bunker Bay to Augusta and features granite headlands, rugged cliffs and amazing flora displays. Highlights of the park include Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse (1903), Sugarloaf Rock, Ellensbrook historic homestead, Meekadarabee Falls, Calgardup and Giants Caves and the Boranup Karri Forest with some trees reaching 60 m and Boranup Lookout. Several excellent walking trails and campgrounds within the park. Wreck of HMAS Swan (8 km n-w) Southern Hemisphere’s largest accessible dive wreck site - permits required. Local Beaches include Meelup (5 km n-w), Eagle Bay (8 km n-w), Bunker Bay (12 km n-w) all ideal for swimming, fishing and snorkeling. Whale watching (Sept-Dec).
