Dwellingup WA 6213 (Pop 560)
Dwellingup is a prosperous timber town surrounded by state forests 106 km south of Perth. Settled by early timber cutters in 1890s, 30 years later Dwellingup had become an important forest management and research centre. Tragically the town and a number of surrounding towns were destroyed by lightning ignited bushfires in 1961 and had to be rebuilt.
