Edithburgh is a pretty Yorke Peninsula holiday destination located 226 km west of Adelaide. European settlement began in 1860s and was named after the SA Governor’s wife. Edithburgh became a major salt producer and at its peak (1920s) 24 000 tonnes was exported annually. Today mainly tourism supports the local economy. Gala Day (Oct).

Edithburgh Native Flora Park
, Anstey Tce 17 ha reserve of eucalypts, acacias & casuarinas, a prolific birdlife and 2 km of scenic walking paths. Maritime Museum, Edith St excellent maritime and local history displays and memorabilia. Open (2pm-4pm) Sun & holidays. Historic Cemetery contains the graves of many early German settlers. Edithburgh Jetty, Edith St wonderful Troubridge Island views and good fishing. Foreshore natural tidal pool a great swimming spot. 

 

Nearby:
Troubridge Hill
(south) excellent coastal views and nearby is Troubridge Hill Lighthouse and the Clan Ranald anchor. Sultana Point (2 km south) pretty swimming and fishing spot. Troubridge Island Conservation Park (30 min by boat) 260 ha reserve home to a large number of bird species including penguins and also a lighthouse. Coobowie (5 km north) small popular coastal town with good swimming.
