Finch Hatton Gorge is located within the rugged Eungella NP (formerly Broken River NP) in the Pioneer Valley. Located about 1 000 km n-w of Brisbane near Mackay, this park of almost 52 000 ha contains Australia’s oldest and longest expanse of subtropical rainforest. Finch Hatton Gorge is bounded by spectacular rainforest areas featuring waterfalls (Araluen, Wheel of Fire), swimming holes, walking tracks and over 220 birdlife species.
