Finley

Finley is a pleasant and peaceful Riverina township 696 km s-w of Sydney. Originally inhabited by the Wiradjuri Aborigines who named the area ‘Carawatha’ meaning ‘place of pines’, European settlement began in 1840s with squatters. Following WWI and a number of serious droughts, the Berrigquin Irrigation Area was constructed in 1935 which greatly enhanced the local economy. Major industries are pastoral and agricultural.
