Geelong South is a residential and industrial inner city Geelong suburb located 2 km from the CBD.  Bounded by the Barwon River to its south, it is also the western end point for the 32 km walking/cycling Bellarine Rail Trail to Queenscliff.  Its has a major carpet manufacturing industry. Geelong is 75 km s-w of Melbourne.
