Glenrowan is a small historic High Country town located 236 n-e of Melbourne. It is also famed as the place where police killed Australia’s most famous bushranger, Ned Kelly in 1880. Originally inhabited by the Pallanganmiddang Aborigines, white settlement began in 1840s as a pastoral & agricultural service town.

Wineries - about half a dozen surround the town. Lake Mokoan (west/n-w) various watersports. Warby Range State Park, Taminick Gap Rd 7 600 ha granite range divided into 3 sections and noted for its lookouts (Ryans, Pangarang and Mt Glenrowan standing at 513 m).
