Goroke is a small Grampians region service centre located 369 km n-w of Melbourne. Established in 1880s, its Aboriginal name means ‘magpie’. Goroke is surrounded by rich pastoral & agricultural lands with several lakes (Charlegrark, Bringalbert, Ratzcastle, Karnak) nearby together with the Little Desert NP - the state’s 2nd largest park (1 300 sq km) known for its sandy ridges & spectacular wildflower displays.
