The Gulf/Savannah region begins west of the Atherton Tablelands and stretches to the NT border along the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is a remote region made up of endless savannah grasslands leading into the Gulf’s estuaries and lagoons. Rich in early exploration and goldmining history, this stunning area also contains a number of ancient and fascinating national parks.
