Harden-Murrumburrah is an important Riverina township located 342 km west of Sydney. European settlers arrived in 1820s following occupation by the Wiradjuri Aborogines. Gold prospecting began in 1850s and the settlement formerly known as Murrumburrah North became an important rail centre from 1870s. The area supports many agricultural industries including fruit growing, grains, sheep, cattle, horse studs. ‘Best of the Bush’ Festival (Mar), Agricultural Show (Sept).
