Inverloch is a pretty Gippsland seaside town on Anderson Inlet, 144 km s-e of Melbourne. Originally inhabited by the Bunarong Aborigines, European settlement began in 1870s with the establishment of a port to ship coal. As port activities declined due to rail and road infrastructure, Inverloch turned to tourism as well as grazing, wool and dairying to support its economy. Jazz Festival (Mar).

Inverloch Environment Centre, The Esplanade fascinating natural history and dinosaur excavation displays and information. Water Sports in the protected inlet include swimming, canoeing, waterskiing and fishing. Venus Bay ideal for surfing and also birdwatching.
Nearby:
Drives include the 14 km s-w to Cape Peterson with superb coastal scenery along the Bunurong Cliffs and the 19 km s-e to Tarwin Lower, a small pretty village near Venus Bay.
