Kilkivan Qld 4600 (Pop 350)

Kilkivan is a pleasant Sunshine Coast hinterland service centre 217 km n-w of Brisbane. European settlement began in 1840s and gold & copper discoveries followed. The copper smelter (Mt Clara) is today part of the National Estate. Kilkivan sits on the Wide Bay Hwy and nearest large town is Gympie (50 km east).
