Koroit is a charming historic township in the Great Ocean Road region 277 km s-w of Melbourne. Originally occupied by the Peel Whurrong Aborigines, European pastoralists arrived in 1830s. Koroit is situated on the fertile slopes of an extinct volcano, Tower Hill and is surrounded by rich potato, onion amd dairy farms. The town features a number of interesting heritage walks, an historic cemetery and Tower Hill State Game Reserve - over 600 ha of wildlife, birdwatching and scenic bushwalks.
