Lake Boga Vic 3584 (Pop 750)
Lake Boga is a pretty Murray region township 328 km n-w of Melbourne. It is situated on a large freshwater lake of the same name popular for many types of watersports including an annual yachting regatta. The settlement, whose first building opened in 1887, sits on the Murray Valley Hwy just 16 km south of much larger Swan Hill. The surrounding district grows grains, fruit & vegetables and grapes. The township is also home to the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum as it was a WWII flying boat maintenance base. Lake Boga and several other nearby lakes boast prolific birdlife numbers and diverse flora & fauna.
