Leinster is a former goldmining town in WA’s Golden Outback 856 km n-e of Perth. Established in 1976 by a gold mining company to accommodate its workers, the town is today better known for its nickel mining operations. Surrounded by sprawling sheep stations, Leinster is often referred to as the ‘home of the wedge tailed eagle’. Kangaroos and emus are also found in abundance in the area.
