Licola is a small charming East Gippsland settlement 243 km n-e of Melbourne. It is situated on the Macallister River near the vast Alpine NP and is Victoria’s only privately owned township. The Lions Club of Victoria own Licola completely and developed the Wilderness Village for mainly disadvantaged/special needs children & young adults providing accommodation and a range of activities. The area around Licola is rich in natural attractions such as the Avon Wilderness, Lake Tarli Karng, Alpine NP & Howitt Plains - all ideal for bushwalking & appreciating nature.
