Long Island Qld 4741 

Long Island is a quiet Whitsunday island close to the mainland. Sitting in the heart of the Whitsundays, it is about 20 mins from both Shute Harbour (9 km) and Hamilton Island accessible by launch or helicopter. As the name implies it is long (9 km) and also narrow (200 m - 2 km). The National Park offers excellent bushwalks as well as the Whitsunday Circuit (3.5 km), the Palm Bay walk (2.2 km one way) and the Sandby Bay Trail (5.9 km). Swimming and snorkeling are also popular.
