Marble Bar is a modern yet historic mining town located in WA’s North West 1 477 km north of Perth. Named after a stunning bar of quartz, which was mistaken for marble, it is Australia’s hottest town although the weather is ideal between Apr-Sept. Marble Bar’s historic buildings date back to 1880s Pilbara goldrushes and add great charm to this attractive, neat township. Marble Bar Races (July).

Corunna Downs RAAF Base (40 km s-e) built in 1943 for long range attacks on Japanese occupied Indonesian islands. Doolena Gorge (45 km n-w) stunning cliffs faces.
