McLaren Vale is an attractive Fleurieu Peninsula settlement located 40 km south of Adelaide. Surrounded by orchards, rich farmlands and vineyards, some of which were established 1830s, this historic town is more often referred to as a region. Sea & Vines Festival (June), Wine Bushing Festival (Oct).

Onkaparinga River NP
(7 km n-w) superb reserve divided into a recreation park of 285 ha and national park of 1 545 ha. SA’s 2nd longest river flows through magnificent gorges and steep valleys with their sheer cliffs and where the river flows out to sea, the wetlands and estuary environment has an excellent 5 km interpretive walking trail. McLaren Vale Wineries number over 50 in the district. Coastal Beaches include O’Sullivan, Christies & Moana.
