Molong is a charming Central West agricultural town located 292 km n-w of Sydney on the Mitchell Hwy. Original inhabitants were the Wiradjuri Aborigines who named the area meaning ‘place of many rocks’. Land grants were taken up from 1830s and Molong was the site of Australia’s first copper mine. Main industries are wool, wheat, cattle, orchards and vineyards.
