Mudgeeraba is a Gold Coast hinterland suburb situated 80 km s-e of Brisbane via the Pacific Hwy. Covering an area of 26 sq km, its Aboriginal name means ‘place where lies are told’. Mudgeeraba developed early from an historic timber village and features many traditional-style houses on larger blocks resulting in a welcoming village atmosphere. In recent years, Mudgeeraba has become quite fashionable and boasts many interesting galleries and specialty shops. The surrounding region offers miles of pristine beaches and Brisbane islands (east), a variety of fun-filled theme parks (north) and stunning national parks (Springbrook, Lamington) and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (south).
