Murgon is a pretty Sunshine Coast hinterland service centre 201 km n-w of Brisbane. It sits on the Bunya Hwy and was first settled in 1840s. Murgon is known as the ‘beef capital of the Burnett’ set amidst thriving agricultural industries. The town’s dairy museum and nearby Cherbourg Aboriginal Community are of great interest together with the nearby Boat Mountain Conservation Park, Jack Smith Conservation Park & Bjelke-Petersen Dam popular for watersports and fishing.
