Rochester is a pleasant Murray Region centre on the Northern Hwy 208 km north of Melbourne. Sitting on the Campaspe River with numerous lakes and channels nearby make Rochester a popular fishing destination particularly for Murray codand bream.  Rochester is also the birthplace of cycling great, Hubert Opperman who has a museum devoted to his amazing career. Of interest nearby is the Kyabram Fauna Park and Random House Homestead.
