Romsey is a small attractive Macedon Ranges township located 69 km north of Melbourne. Original inhabitants were the Wurundjeri Aborigines and white settlers arrived in 1850s. Romsey was named after an English town and with its historic brick buildings and tree-lined streets, has a very English feel to it. The town acts as a dormitory township to Melbourne and is home to numerous wineries.
