Rye is a small Mornington Peninsula coastal village located between Blairgowrie and Tootgarook 106 km south of Melbourne. Its excellent beaches provide swimming, sailboarding and windsurfing, while the forehores have good recreational facilities. A rebuilt limeburners’ kiln reflects upon an important part of this area’s history. The Blow Wave Windsurfing Classic & Rye Athletics Gift (Jan) & Sand Sculpture Competition (Feb). The Blairgowrie-Rye Recreational Track follows the foreshores through banksia and tea tree vegetation.
