Seppeltsfield SA 5355
Seppeltsfield is an historic Barossa Valley winery located 68 km n-e of Adelaide. Together with the nearby township of Marananga, it was established soley for the purpose of wine making. Joseph Seppelt arrived from Germany in 1849 and initially grew tobacco before turning to grapes. His son expanded the business and today Seppeltsfield makes for a unique winery experience with its date palms, strange wine vats and turret-styled buildings. The nearby Seppelt Mausoleum (1927) provides excellent surrounding area vistas.
