Seventeen Seventy is a pretty Gladstone region coastal resort town 489 km north of Brisbane. It was named in honour of the date Capt Cook made his second landing on Australian soil and first on Qld soil. 1770 is noted for its beautiful beaches and great fishing. Day trips and fishing charters operate to Lady Musgrave Island. Day where bush camping, snorkeling, diving, fishing and bushwalking can be enjoyed. 1770 is surrounded by Eurimbula NP and Deepwater NP (4WD only) featuring rainforests, heathlands, wildlife, birdlife, swimming and fishing.
