Comments[0] South Molle Island

South Molle Island Qld 4741

South Molle Island is a Whitsunday Island just 8 km east of Shute Harbour. Named after Colonel Molle, it was originally used for sheep and cattle grazing. Today it is a very popular holiday resort destination with many types of sporting activities.  The hilly island (including Mt Jeffreys 194 m, The Horn 176 m and Spion Kop 154 m) is ideal for walking and the 420 ha National Park has established a number of walking trails (16 km in total) to access some of the more remote parts of the island.  Access is via launch from Shute Harbour or Hamilton Island.

Visitor Information Centre: 277 Shute Harbour Rd, Airlie Beach. Tel (07) 9496 6665 or 1800 819 366.
