Comments[0] Swan Reach - South Australia

Swan Reach SA 5354 (Pop 280)

Swan Reach is a former Murray River port located 126 km n-e of Adelaide. European settlement began in 1850s with sheep and cattle stations and the original Swan Reach homestead is today the Swan Reach Hotel. The busy paddle steamer port declined when the railway arrived and nearby Morgan took over the river trade. Today the town is a rural service centre for the surrounding sheep, cereal and fruit and vegetable industries.
