The Solitary Islands NSW

The Solitary Islands are located just off the coast at Coffs Harbour. They comprise Muttonbird Island, Split Solitary, South Solitary, SW Solitary, NW Solitary, North Rock, North Solitary, NW Rock and Pimpernel Rock. They are protected by the Solitary Islands Marine Park jointly administered by the National Parks & Wildlife and the Dept of Fisheries. Tel (02) 6652 3977.

The Marine Park covers about 100 000 ha and spans 75 km north from Coffs Harbour to the Sandon River mouth. It is divided into various zones – sanctuary, refuge, general use and contains diverse habitats – estuaries, reefs, beaches that accommodate tropical, sub tropical and temperate fish, algae and coral species.
