Tintaldra is a quiet, picturesque Upper Murray region village 458 km n-e of Melbourne. It sits at the foot of the Snowy Mountains and on the Murray River which forms the border with NSW. Tintaldra was established in 1850s which coincided with major Victorian goldrushes. The original historic Waltons Tintaldra store (1864) still exists and is worth a visit together with a number of other heritage buildings. Burrowa-Pine Mountain NP is nearby with countless bird species, diverse wildlife and spectacular walks and lookouts.
