Wagin is WA’s sheep capital located in the state’s South Western corner 236 km s-e of Perth. An important rural service centre to the surround sheep and wheat farms, Wagin also produces agricultural supplies. The town was established thanks to the Great Southern Railway (1889) and has flourished ever since. Wagin holds WA’s largest rural show -Wagin Woolorama each March.

Historic Wagin includes St George’s Anglican Church (1902), Palace Hotel (1905), St George’s Hall (1912), Old Power House (1914). Wagin Historical Village, Kitchener St recreated historic buildings. The Big Ram, Arthur River Rd measures 7m x 15 m.
Nearby:
Puntapin Rock (4 km s-e) spectacular views. Mt Latham (8 km west) walking trails, lookout, unusual rock formations and seasonal wildflowers. Lake Norring (17 km s-w) excellent watersports. Lake Dumbleyung (18 km east) site of world water-speed record (1964) and popular for watersports and birdwatching.
