Walpole is a picturesque South Western region town entirely surrounded by a national park. Located 418 km south of Perth and sitting on Nornalup Inlet, Walpole was established in 1930 and is the only place in this region where the forest meets the ocean. The park’s main attraction is the Tree Top Walk (680 m long x 38 m high) over the red tingle canopy in the Valley of the Giants. Mandalay Beach (20 km west) boardwalk to site of 1911 shipwreck. Mount Frankland NP (29 km north) 31 000 ha haven for birdwatchers with over 50 species. Peaceful Bay (35 km east) pretty fishing village with swimming beach. Fernhook Falls (36 km n-w) recreational area popular for canoeing and kayaking.
