Warren NSW 2824 (Pop 2 200)

Warren is a peaceful Macquarie River township in Central West NSW 562 km n-w of Sydney. The Ngiyambaa Aborigines were original inhabitants with squatter settlement beginning 1830s. Warren became an important railhead at the turn of the 20^th century and local agriculture benefited greatly from the building of the Burrendong Dam (1967). Major industries are cotton, sheep and grain. Golden Fleece Day (May), Cotton Cup Carnival (Nov).
