Warren NSW 2824 (Pop 2 200)

Warren is a peaceful Macquarie River township in Central West NSW 562 km n-w of Sydney. The Ngiyambaa Aborigines were original inhabitants with squatter settlement beginning 1830s. Warren became an important railhead at the turn of the 20th century and local agriculture benefited greatly from the building of the Burrendong Dam (1967). Major industries are cotton, sheep and grain. Golden Fleece Day (May), Cotton Cup Carnival (Nov).
