Yandina is a delightful Sunshine Coast hinterland township 108 km north of Brisbane. It was the first town in the region and was earmarked to be shire centre prior to a large sugar mill being constructed in nearby Nambour. However, it is deservedly the ‘Ginger Capital of the World’ since the Buderim Ginger Factory, the world’s largest of its kind, moved its operations to Yandina. Eumundi, a charming little village nearby boasts an excellent market each Sat (6.30am-2pm) and its own small brewery and winery. Yandina markets each Sat. Ginger Flower Festival. (Jan).
