Yankalilla SA 5203 (Pop 500)

Yankalilla is an attractive Fleurieu Peninsula service town surrounded by sheep and cattle farms. It is ideally located just 74 km south of Adelaide and on the main road to Cape Jervis therefore there is a great deal of passing trade. European farmers first settled Yankalilla, thought to be an Aboriginal name, from 1840s and thereafter followed a number of years of substantial growth. Twilight Rodeo (Jan).

Normanville (3 km west) historic and pretty seaside resort with heritage buildings and excellent diving among the various shipwrecks.
Myponga Conservation Park (9 km n-e) bushwalking and birdwatching reserve. Myponga (14 km n-e) historic town with scenic reservoir. Rapid Bay (27 km s-w) coastal town known for its fishing and diving opportunities. Talisker Conservation Park (30 km s-w). Cape Jervis (35 km south) spectacular views, fishing, beaches, start of 1 200 Heysen Trail (bushwalk) and departure point for Kangaroo Island ferries.
