Yarloop WA 6218
Yarloop is a National Trust-classified township in WA’s fertile South West region. This historic timber milling town sits on the South Western Hwy 122 km south of Perth between the Darling Range (east) and Indian Ocean (west). Yarloop was first settled around 1850 and its hugely successful timber (jarrah & karri) industry began in 1894 thanks to the entrepreneurial Millar brothers who developed the area’s vast timber potential. This fascinating town offers many well preserved buildings as part of the Yarloop Heritage Trail including the excellent Timbermill Workshop – the state’s largest steam workshop.
